Always an Outlaw Scholarship

We are inviting our Outlaw Class of 2019 to apply for our annual $500.00 ‘Always an Outlaw’ Scholarship. 

This invitation is being extended to all former Outlaw Players and Cheerleaders who are High School Seniors in good standing with their School and Community. 

To be eligible, please submit a short essay explaining what your time with the Outlaws did to prepare you for your 4 years of high school, what you did in high school to exemplify the traits instilled in you by the Outlaws, and your post High School plans. 

All submissions need to be emailed to the Outlaw Scholarship Committee at Ailene60016@yahoo.com with the RE line:“Attn Outlaw Scholarship”.  

In order to be considered, your emailed submission must be received by 8:00 pm on January 5th, 2024. Please include your full name, address, phone number and High School. 

Applicants’ names will be removed from their essays and they will be forwarded to and voted on by the Committee. 

Winners will be contacted and the scholarship will be awarded at the 2023 Outlaw Banquet held at 115 Bourbon Street on 01/21/24.

NIU Cheer Competition

Congratulations to our PeeWee, Lightweight and Varsity cheer on their first competition yesterday!  Lightweights received a 5th place finish in the 1st round of 26 teams and earned their 1st bid to State! Our cheerleaders and coaches hard work, effort and dedication truly shined on the mat and in their amazing new uniforms! Two more weeks until their next competition…time to put in the work!

Cheer University

Today, many of our cheer coaches attended Cheer University through the (ICA) Illinois Cheerleading Association. We strongly believe in the importance of our coaches educating themselves. Our coaches have a myriad of different qualities and skills. Their position comes with many responsibilities including the welfare, development and safety of our athletes. The Outlaws continually strive to ensure we are fully prepared to provide our cheerleaders with an amazing experience!

AED/CPR Training for Outlaws Board, Coaches, and Team Moms

The Outlaws are proud to be a part of this initiative! It’s just one of the many ways we work to keep our athletes safe! We participate in AED, CPR, and concussion training! We have AED devices and certified medical professionals at each practice and game. Our equipment in inspected, cleaned, and refurbished or reordered annually. Coaches have been trained, and certified, and have passed a background check before being allowed to coach. Players must adhere to the league’s strict weight parameters. New this year, our lightweight and varsity football players will be wearing guardian caps on their helmets during practice.

The Outlaws are serious about safety!!!
